What are Standard Shims?
Shims are thin, precision-cut metal plates—typically stainless steel—used to fill gaps, align components, or achieve exact spacing between mechanical parts. Often called alignment shims, they are essential for maintaining the reliability and performance of pumps, motors, shafts, conveyors, and a wide range of rotating and fixed machinery.
Standard shims refer to pre-cut, off-the-shelf shim sizes and thicknesses. These are ideal for general maintenance, equipment setup, or situations where standard tolerances apply. All our standard shims are packaged for damage-free handling and can be dispatched same-day for urgent jobs.
For more complex requirements, we offer custom shims—tailored to your specifications with non-standard shapes, hole patterns, or material grades. These are manufactured in-house using laser cutting or chemical etching, making them ideal for mission-critical applications or precision machinery.
